On Friday 13 June 2008, while three core members of OTBC where travelling to a conference in Johannesburg, God spoke to us concerning honouring those who have laboured before us, making it possible for us to do what God has called us to do today.
On Saturday 9 August 2008, the leadership of OTBC got together and began to look at a DVD series by John Bevere titled - "Honor’s Reward". The key scripture being Jesus’ teaching found in Mark 6:1-6 where he could not do any miracles, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them because they took offence at him. As God began to expose our own hearts, we knew that this series of teaching needed to be brought into our monthly OTBC breakfasts for 2009. In 2009 for the whole year at every monthly breakfast we watched lesson after lesson, all the time God’s Spirit doing His work in transforming our hearts and minds.
We began to understand a very important truth, that when we do not honour our governing authorities whom God has established, we in fact where not honouring God and as a result Jesus could not do any miracles in our communities. We repented and so began our journey in bringing the honour principle into our lives.
It was decided that the last OTBC breakfast on the 28 November 2009, would be an “Honouring Breakfast”. It would be a time that we would put into practise what we had been learning and invite certain people that we would honour. One such person was the Executive Mayor of Metsimaholo, Clr Brutus Tshepo Mahlaku. Very soon after this we experienced a shift in the spiritual as well as in the natural realm, God began to unite in Christ, the Church, Politics and Business. Out of this we are continually seeing the power of Christ in healing communities.
